About Me

Alex Thomas

Welcome to at ease therapy, my name is Alex and I am a psychotherapist and supervisor.

I know from experience that taking the step you have in searching for a therapist takes bravery and effort, and I’m glad you have taken it.

All people have times where the struggle, find things difficult to manage, or want. to look for guidance and answers. In my practice I strongly believe that each individual is the greatest expert in themselves, but that taking that journey can be difficult alone. That is why I offer everyone I work with confidential, compassionate and professional sessions to explore the difficulties they may be facing.

By talking through the worries and difficulties you’re facing, I aim to support you in finding the tools, understanding, or freedom you need to move forward in your life.

I have been working in counselling and therapy since 2013.
In this time I have supported clients with the NHS, as referrals from private companies and local authorities, as well as my own private work. I have supported counsellors in training through their own therapy and supervision, and have taught a counselling course with a local provider. I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community myself and have experience providing an informed practice for other LGBTQ+ folks to talk about their experience without fear of judgement or having to educate about their identity and life. This is an especially important area of work for me as a non-binary person myself (I use he/they pronouns).
